Celebrating Bold Hearts in Caldwell
At Girls on the Run NJ East, we often talk about the power of showing up—for yourself, and for others. Recently, in Caldwell, we saw exactly what that looks like in action.
At a recent Caldwell Town Council meeting, a group of our incredible coaches was honored with the 2026 Women’s Community Impact Award. While the recognition is meaningful, it’s the story behind it that truly reflects the heart of our mission.
Last fall, our Caldwell team had a waitlist of girls hoping to participate. Without enough coaches, those girls might have missed out on a season of connection, confidence, and joy. But this community stepped up. Five women answered the call, giving their time and energy to ensure more girls had the chance to be part of Girls on the Run.
Because of them, 24 girls were able to come together each week—building friendships, discovering their strengths, and growing their confidence at their own Happy Pace.
Coaches Sandra Cabalu, Maria Lopez, Madelyn Santiago, Hayden Wilson, and Michelle Syme (not pictured) made that possible. Their dedication goes far beyond the lessons they lead—they create a space where every girl feels seen, supported, and inspired.
We are so grateful for these coaches and the impact they’ve made in Caldwell. They are a true example of what it means to lead with heart—and to help others do the same.
